Polyester ripcord also is called rip cord. It’s twisted by multi-strand high-strength polyester yarn to increase cable tensile strength and has function of tearing jacketing. In optical cable and electric cable structure, it will use two ripcords, parallel placed on both sides of cable core and embedded under jacketing, so that users can pull the rope horizontally to peeled off the sheath without damage the cable core by cutting the sheath.

Ripcord is commonly used in foreign cables. At present, all domestic standard fiber optical cables have ripcords, other communication cables also start using ripcords.
